Looking for an apt. in NYC - rental or trade with our Paris apt. - Long term

edited March 2012 in General
We will be in NYC for my sabbatical from 8/12 to 7/13, so ideally are looking for a house exchange in the whereabouts of Columbia University (mid- or lower Manhattan and Brooklyn also ok). If we don’t find a family with whom to swap houses, we are of course looking to rent out ours ($3000 / month).

Our 750 ft² apartment will charm you with its two levels, open floor plan, wooden floors, sunroom, and 350 ft² terrace (with barbecue stand). Downstairs: living room, open kitchen, sunroom, terrace, and WC. Upstairs: bedroom, full bathroom, and office (or a 2nd bedroom). Fully furnished including washer and dishwasher, TV cable, ADSL, telephone with unlimited calls (fixed and mobile) to Europe and North America. The apartment is very quiet even though situated in the lively, artsy area in between Belleville and Père Lachaise. There are many shops and farmers’ markets, as well as many parks (the gorgeous park de Belleville is around the corner). The closest subway station is Ménilmontant.
